| Bob Keane could not graduate from high school fast enough. Eager to get a jumpstart on life, he slammed the front door of Ward Melville High School, never looking back. It's now twenty years later and his old high school flame surfaces again, with her own agenda, trying to convince him to defy his instincts, to put aside his own hang-ups about getting old, and go with her to their twenty-year reunion. At first, he is prepared to decline but is open to suggestion, wavering between accompanying her to atone for not asking her to the prom, or staying home to spare him from having to play a phony for a night. She is determined not to let his misgivings and stubbornness get in her way. Her strategy finally pays off and persuades him to attend. The events of the evening force him to face emotions he had assumed were filed away long ago between the pages of their old yearbook. She continues to have an influence on him long after the reunion has ended. | ![]() |
